For 55 years, we've loved producing family-friendly theatre in a healthy environment. We have been closely watching the news and following the progression of guidelines enacted by state and federal leaders to ensure that this year is no different.

We are announcing a variety of procedural updates to our 2020 seasons for the safety of our patrons:

Schedule Changes

To ensure the protection of our amazing patrons and hard-working staff, we have officially decided to alter our 2020 season schedule, in conjunction with state guidelines. Our opening night will now be Thursday, June 25. All performances after this date will remain the same. For a full, updated schedule of our 2020 season, click HERE.

Capacity Updates


In addition, in accordance with the Governor's mandates, our shows will only be operating at 75% capacity. Extra seats will be held for those who would like to distance themselves from other patrons and will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Face masks are strongly encouraged.

Procedural Changes

Several procedural changes will also be made to the Playmill experience. When patrons first arrive, they'll be given a squirt of hand sanitizer and will receive a contactless temperature check. In accordance with CDC guidelines, those with a fever higher than 100.4 will receive a refund for their ticket and, for the safety of others attending, they will not be admitted into the theatre. Our friendly Playmill Players, who will all be in face masks, will sanitize their hands before taking tickets and then showing patrons to their seats. 

Playmill traditions like sing-along and birthdays will be slightly amended to limit physical interaction between audience members and performers. When intermission comes, we'll have several Players solely dedicated to handling concessions, who will all be wearing gloves and face masks, and others solely dedicated to handling money to ensure cleanliness. Card transactions are available.

Each section within the theatre will have certain procedures for exiting at the end of the performance in order to promote distancing. We encourage each patron who attends to be aware and respectful of others!

Ticket Exchanges

If you held tickets for a show prior to June 25, we have already attempted to contact you to reschedule your tickets.  Please give our box office a call at 406-646-7757 to finalize all the details. If we do not hear from you, we will credit your account in the amount of your ticket purchase. This credit will remain valid for the duration of our 2020 AND 2021 seasons.

Plans for Sanitization

While our summer may look a little different this year, we still cannot wait to provide you and your family an excellent theatre experience! We've invested in the revolutionary new Evaclean system, which is currently being implemented by churches, restaurants, vet clinics, offices, and schools around the world as a complete system for daily cleaning and infection prevention - including protection from the coronavirus. The cleaner is compliant with OSHA/NIOSH standards for workplace exposure and indoor air quality, and even meets hospital standards.


Broad-spectrum disinfectant tablets are applied with an electrostatic sprayer, designed to wrap around whatever surface it comes in contact with. This will allow us to quickly disinfect the entire theatre before, in between, and after each performance for the health and safety of each audience member. We will also be using this system to clean our bathrooms regularly throughout each performance. To read more about this system, click HERE.
